Jember Regency is a center for sheep and goat farming in East Java, but waste management by the Sidomulyo Livestock Group is still not optimal. Poorly managed waste has the potential to pollute the environment, cause unpleasant odors, and increase the risk of disease. In addition, most farmers (90%) lack the knowledge and skills to process waste into organic fertilizer, and livestock management is still conventional. This program aims to address the problem of sheep and goat manure waste by utilizing it as organic fertilizer. It seeks to reduce the negative environmental impact, increase the economic value of waste through recycling, and empower livestock group members by improving their skills and knowledge in organic fertilizer production and modern livestock management. The solutions implemented include the manufacture of a livestock manure grinder (Compost Grinder) and the construction of a compost house. The stages of the activity include surveys, coordination, technology assembly, and comprehensive training and education on the direct production of organic fertilizer, from manure destruction to the fermentation and harvesting processes. The main outputs targeted are the availability of Compost Houses and Compost Grinders, as well as the sustainable production of compost fertilizer. It is expected that 80% of livestock farmers will be able to produce compost independently. Other outcomes include the publication of scientific articles, mass media news, recognition certificates, activity videos, and intellectual property rights submissions.
