Author Guidelines

Introduction

The Organizing Committee of the 9th International Conference on Food and Agriculture (ICoFA) 2026 welcomes the submission of original research papers from researchers, academics, industry practitioners, policymakers, and students worldwide. Manuscripts should present significant scientific contributions relevant to the conference theme and one of the official conference tracks.

Authors are requested to carefully read these guidelines before preparing and submitting their manuscripts. Manuscripts that do not comply with the conference requirements may be returned for correction or declined during the editorial screening process.

1. General Requirements

Authors should ensure that the submitted manuscript:

3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare their manuscript using the official conference template.

The manuscript should be written in English and carefully checked for grammar, spelling, and consistency before submission.

The Organizing Committee strongly encourages authors to proofread their manuscript or seek professional English editing before submission when necessary.

4. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should generally contain the following sections.

Title

The title should accurately describe the content of the manuscript.

A good title should be:

  • concise;
  • informative;
  • specific;
  • understandable for readers from related disciplines.

Avoid unnecessary abbreviations and writing the title entirely in capital letters.

Authors and Affiliations

The manuscript should clearly include:

  • author names;
  • institutional affiliations;
  • department (if applicable);
  • city;
  • country;
  • corresponding author's email address.

Authors should carefully verify the spelling of names and affiliations before submission, as these will be used for publication and indexing.

Abstract

The abstract should briefly describe:

  • the objective of the study;
  • the research methodology;
  • the principal findings;
  • the main conclusion.

The abstract should be informative and understandable without referring to the full manuscript.

Do not include references, tables, figures, or undefined abbreviations in the abstract.

Introduction

The Introduction should provide sufficient background information to explain the importance of the study.

Authors should:

  • introduce the research problem;
  • summarize relevant previous studies;
  • explain the significance of the work;
  • clearly state the research objectives.

The Introduction should allow readers from related disciplines to understand the context of the research.

Materials and Methods

This section should describe the research methodology in sufficient detail to allow the work to be understood and, where appropriate, reproduced by other researchers.

Authors should clearly explain:

  • research design;
  • materials;
  • methods;
  • analytical procedures;
  • statistical methods (if applicable).

Results and Discussion

Present the research findings clearly using appropriate tables and figures where necessary.

The discussion should interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies where appropriate, and explain their scientific significance.

Avoid repeating numerical information already presented in tables or figures.

Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the principal findings of the research and directly address the research objectives.

Avoid introducing new data or discussion in this section.

Acknowledgements

This section is optional.

Authors may acknowledge:

  • funding agencies;
  • research grants;
  • supporting institutions;
  • technical assistance;
  • collaborators.

References

References should:

  • be accurate;
  • be relevant;
  • be cited within the manuscript;
  • be listed at the end of the paper.

Authors are encouraged to verify all bibliographic information before submission.

5. Figures and Tables

All figures and tables should:

  • be clearly readable;
  • be numbered consecutively;
  • be cited within the manuscript;
  • include descriptive captions.

Authors using figures or tables reproduced from other publications must obtain the necessary permission and properly acknowledge the original source.

6. Ethical Responsibilities

Authors are expected to:

  • submit original work;
  • accurately report research findings;
  • properly acknowledge the work of others;
  • obtain permission for copyrighted materials;
  • ensure that all listed authors have contributed significantly to the research.

Any form of plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, or data falsification is considered unethical and may result in rejection of the manuscript.

7. Editorial Screening

Each submitted manuscript will first undergo an editorial screening to evaluate:

  • relevance to the conference scope;
  • compliance with the manuscript guidelines;
  • completeness of the submission;
  • language quality;
  • originality.

Manuscripts that do not meet the minimum requirements may be returned to the authors before entering the peer-review process.

8. Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent reviewers.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • originality;
  • scientific contribution;
  • technical quality;
  • clarity of presentation;
  • relevance to the conference themes;
  • quality of references;
  • English language quality.

The Editorial Committee will make the final decision based on reviewers' recommendations. Kriteria tersebut sejalan dengan pedoman editorial dan formulir evaluasi reviewer yang menjadi acuan penyelenggaraan.

9. Revision

Authors receiving revision requests should respond to all reviewer comments and submit the revised manuscript before the specified deadline.

Failure to submit revisions within the allocated time may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from the publication process.

10. Camera-Ready Manuscript

After acceptance, authors are required to submit the final camera-ready version of their manuscript.

Before submitting the final version, authors should carefully verify:

  • title;
  • author names;
  • affiliations;
  • figures;
  • tables;
  • references;
  • grammar;
  • spelling;
  • overall formatting.

Once the manuscript enters the final publication stage, substantial changes to the scientific content should no longer be made. Hal ini sejalan dengan pedoman penyusunan naskah akhir yang menekankan pemeriksaan menyeluruh sebelum produksi.

11. Conference Presentation

At least one registered author must present the accepted paper during the conference.

Only papers that have completed the review process, fulfilled all editorial requirements, completed registration, and been presented during the conference will be considered for inclusion in the conference proceedings.
