Abstract

This study provides empirical evidence regarding the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method in the Cost Accounting course, majoring in Business Management, Politeknik Negeri Batam. This research used primary data and data collection techniques using a questionnaire which is distributed via google from. The questionnaire reviews the effectiveness of the PBL method in improving students' hard skills and soft skills in a group work. The sample 61 respondents were students who had taken cost accounting subject. By using descriptive analysis, the results follows: the implementation of PBL is a collaboration of all department. The collaboration obtained 31 products that were used as objects of PBL implementation with the output in the form of Cost of Production. The PBL implementation was attended by 61 students and 15 lecturers. 96% of students stated that the PBL method was very effective in improving their hard skills and soft skills.
