Optimalisasi Potensi Cabai Lokal Untuk Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Desa Sumberwaru melalui Produk Inovatif Bon Cabai

Abstract

Chili peppers are a strategic horticultural commodity in Indonesia with high economic value. Agronomically, chili peppers can grow in various regions, both lowland and highland, with a flexible planting season, thus offering high production potential. Sumberwaru Village, Sukowono District, is one of the villages where the majority of the population works in the informal and agricultural sectors, including chili farmers. The ease of cultivation in this sector results in a relatively high chili commodity quantity, but this is not accompanied by stable selling prices, especially during the main harvest season or when climate disturbances such as prolonged rain or drought occur. Based on this, community service was carried out related to the processing of innovative sprinkle chili products to optimize high chili production. The method used consists of several stages, namely (1) Planning activities through situation analysis and coordination with partners of the An-Nur’s Islamic women group, (2) Providing counseling and socialization regarding the potential of chilies and innovative sprinkle chili products, (3) Providing training/direct practice to the An-Nur’s Islamic women group regarding making sprinkle chilis products and (5) Monitoring and evaluation in the form of providing questionnaires. The final result of this activity is an increase in knowledge and expertise of partners, the An-Nur Study Group mothers regarding the potential of chili commodities to become new innovative products, namely sprinkle chilli.
