Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of artificial intelligence, lifestyle, impulse buying and hedonism on lending decisions using SPayLater, and to determine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable mediated by self-control variables. This research uses a quantitative approach and primary data sources obtained from questionnaires filled out by 386 respondents from Generation Z born between 1995-2010 who live in Batam City, and use SPayLater. The data obtained was analyzed using path analysis. Path analysis uses the Structural Equation Model (SEM) application based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that artificial intelligence, impulse buying, and hedonism significantly influenced the decision to use SPayLater, both directly and through self-control as a mediator. However, self-control is unable to mediate the effect of hedonism on the loan decision to use SPayLater, and lifestyle also has no significant direct effect.
